 Moon Hawk Woman

Moon Hawk Woman, is she from tribal heritage? In a sense of the word, yes! If you were to ask which tribe, it would be the tribe of ‘Humanity’ because, in truth, we are all one. Her passion, wanting to protect the seventh generation, can only be achieved by saving the planet from self-destruction. As an Earth Healer, she understands the vital importance of respecting the natural world. Since childhood, she appreciated a strong connection to nature and embraced a deep-rooted interest in Native American tradition.

On a visit to the USA in 2001, she was introduced by a friend to a Lakota First Nations medicine man. A friendship developed between the two and she was invited to visit his home and family. He became her mentor as she discovered their traditions, spirituality and ceremonies.

What had led him to include her in his circle? It was the recognition that she too was a healer. She describes the time spent with these friends as a feeling of "coming home." He taught her to connect with her spirit guide; eventually, she was initiated as a 'Pipe Carrier' in a naming ceremony, was given the name Moon Hawk Woman.

The name chosen was because during a Vision Quest, the full moon represented the light that had made it possible for the hawk to see through the darkness of night, and observe in silence.

Having the ability to see what many do not notice, combined with a compassionate desire to help others, is her special gift.

Captain Del

Our mother earth, we have one chance to save our planet. There is no trial run. Either we get it right, or we lose everything. My generation has so much to answer for, we stood by and watched industrialists and money destroy the earth, we even encouraged it, relishing our cars and electronics, burning fossil fuels like there was no tomorrow, while money became our God.

As a long-time sailor and diver, more than most I am at one with nature, the weather and the wind control my days. I see the destruction of our seas first hand, What was once Teaming Coral reefs now turned to barren empty beds of sand. Beautiful natural tropical islands, with nesting turtles, 5 million-year-old reefs, and mangrove swamps destroyed and turned into luxury golf courses with millionaires yacht marinas.

The subject is so enormous and so complex, there is no short quick solution, but unless we make a start then all is lost.

The first thing that any of us can do immediately, is to get in tune with nature, appreciation of what we have, while we still have it. The teachings of the Navajo Indians, as with most of the old native tribes are the closest we can come to coming back to nature, It's time to listen and learn from our tribal elders, They were right all the time, but we didn’t listen.
There is no plan B.
